This is a very common error in Windows 10. When you try to install Windows 10/8/7 on your system, you will see this error message, “Windows cannot be installed to this disk.” The problem is, the system image you are using is of a different type, and your hard disk has the other partition.

Note that MBR partition only with BIOS or Legacy BIOS. So if you have UEFI mode, you have to create another system installation disk with a GPT partition.
Or you can format your hard disk with a GPT partition. Microsoft Windows allows users to convert hard disk with a command prompt.

How to Create a Bootable Media
Step 1: While making your bootable media make sure that you choose GPT partition with UEFI. If you are using BIOS then choose BIOS.

You have to attach a USB drive to enable these options. Once the partition scheme selected, choose the Windows ISO file.
Step 2: Then click on Start. This will create a bootable USB drive with Windows 10 OS.

How to Fix Windows Cannot Be Installed to This Disk
When you are installing Windows 10 using a USB bootable device, you will face this error.

Now follow these steps to fix the error.
Step 1: Click on ok and then press fn + shift + F10 or shift + F10. This will open a command prompt.
Step 2: You have to enter some commands here to convert your hard disk. Make sure to backup everything because this process will format your hard disk completely.

Make sure to select the right disk. You have to select your system drive. In most cases, it is a drive 0. You can identify it with the size.
You can convert your disk to GPT, MBR, or basic format.
Convert MBR to GPT Using EaseUS Partition Master

Step 1. Download and install EaseUS Partition Master on your Windows 10.
Step 2. Now open the tool and right-click on the disk partition that you want to convert and choose “Convert to GPT.”

The partitions on the hard drive are classified into two types: primary partitions and secondary partitions. A primary partition contains the operating system files.
