I have been using QuickBooks® Desktop for more than 3 years now and have never faced any issue until recently when I could not open my company file despite repeated attempts. While Intuit Support may help with the data recovery process, I was reluctant to send the file to the support team as the process may have taken several days to complete. So, I started looking for an alternative to perform company file repair without downtime; this was when I came across Stellar Repair for QuickBooks® software.
The software claims to repair severely corrupt Company file of QuickBooks® 2020 and earlier versions, keeping all its data intact. After reading reviews by QuickBooks ProAdvisors and the software’s features, I decided to give the QuickBooks repair tool a try.
I downloaded the demo version of the software to test its effectiveness. After downloading the demo version, I uploaded the corrupt company file that I wanted to repair, and the software displayed a preview of the repaired file data. I took a sigh of relief when I could see my company file data in the preview and activated the licensed version of the software to save the repaired file.
I want to suggest Stellar Repair for QuickBooks® software to every QB user who has been searching for a reliable and quick solution to fix a corrupted QBW file. Also, to help you out, I have shared how you can use the software to repair a corrupt company file.
Using Stellar Repair for QuickBooks® software
Before getting started, you must meet the following prerequisites:
- QuickBooks® must be installed on your PC
- Intel-compatible processor
- Windows 10/8.1/8/7 operation system
- 400 MB of disk space and a minimum of 4 GB RAM
Once your system meets these requirements, download and installs Stellar Repair for QuickBooks® software. Launch the software and it opens with options to Browse or Find a corrupt QuickBooks file that you want to repair.
After selecting the file to be repaired, click Scan to initiate the scanning process. Once the scanning is complete, a dialog box opens with scan details. You can save the scan log and continue with the QuickBooks file repair process by clicking the OK button.
The software displays a preview of recoverable QuickBooks file data, including the Company, Customers, Vendors, and Employees. Open the tab from the main menu to view its content. For instance, click on the Customers tab to preview its data. After verifying the recoverable data, click Save.
Note: If you’re not satisfied with the repair results, click on ‘Advance Option’ at the bottom of the screen. The option uses the QuickBooks® backup file (QBB) and the company file (QBW) for the repairing process.
In the Save File dialog box, select the New Company File (QBW) option to create a new company file that will contain the repaired file data. If you have a QuickBooks® backup file, choose the QuickBooks® backup file (QBB) option to recover complete data from the corrupted QBW file. After selecting an appropriate option, click Save to proceed with the repair process.
The software displays a log report containing details of the repair process and its progress. You can save the log report for future reference.
A ‘Repair process completed successfully’ message is displayed on successful completion of the repair process.
Stellar Repair for QuickBooks® software is a handy tool for QB users looking for a solution to avoid downtime associated with manually repairing a corrupted company file (QBW). All you need to do is select a QBW file and follow the prompts on the software interface to repair the file without any technical assistance.
