Weddings are unique in that everyone seems to care most about a specific aspect of them. To some people, the event itself will simply be a byproduct of the union itself, which is what they’ll care about most. To others, though, they’ll want the day to be as big and grand as possible, to match all of the expectations of it that they’ve built up in their mind.

However, you might find that even if you think about this day one way, understanding what others might like about the occasion can have you expand your mind to consider elements you hadn’t previously. This can help to cover all bases and make it as positive an event as possible.

The Guest List

Again, this might be where two given people will be split on what they feel a wedding should be. You might have made up your mind a long time ago that the guest list is going to include people with whom you haven’t had contact for a few years, and you might see this whole day as a chance to reunite with people from your past in a grand celebration. Others will feel the opposite – this is a personal matter for the people closest to you. Neither answer is incorrect, but if you do find that you’re leaning towards a larger list, it might be worth considering the venue in question and how a slightly more restrained list could help you to better manage other areas of preparation.

The Entertainment

If you’re someone who thinks of your wedding as one would a party, the kind of entertainment that’s going to be on display might be something that’s very important to you. For the sake of simplicity, you might decide the best way to go is that of live music, something that can get people dancing while also allowing them to focus their attention on their interactions with each other and the event at large. In this case, conducting exhaustive research into the different wedding bands available can get you and your partner thinking about the kind of mood that you want to set and the type of music that you feel best represents you both and the event you’re trying to create.

Home or Away

It might be that you’ve long thought about your dream wedding, and perhaps even that you wanted to have it overseas. This might be something that you’ve had your heart set on, but this could clash with another aspect of your preparation if you’re also someone who thinks a large guest list is a way to go. The difficulty and cost involved with getting to your wedding location could mean that several people don’t turn up, which could threaten to put a damper on the day if their presence is important to you.

It’s worth considering that you also have the honeymoon, meaning the overseas aspect of your wedding could still be accomplished while also setting the actual wedding itself in a place that’s more convenient to your guests.
