Following the recent addition of the Heist League to Path of Exile, we are learning more about what the game currently has to offer. We now have Replica PoE Uniques to provide new ways of looking at existing unique PoE items, plus a whole host of other changes that have been made to keep the popular ARPG title fresh. If you are new to the game, and still learning about PoE currency, or how the market works with PoE trade, then you might also want to know what PoE builds are good to start with.

With that in mind, here are some of the best starters builds for the current state of Path of Exile.

Volatile Dead Spellslinger Necromancer

This isn’t necessarily always a starter Path of Exile build where Necromancer is concerned. However, the Spellslinger does offer itself as one of the best ways for you to level up in the entirety of the Path of Exile. Equipping this popular PoE to build, providing there are no nerfs to it, will see you eliminating enemies with your wealth of fireballs in a short amount of time. Once you have endgame equipment, bosses will also be a breeze for you to take out.

Blade Vortex Chieftain

If you are looking to dish out some serious damage, whilst maintaining a modest budget, then this is the choice for you. Using the Chieftain class, you can expect to have a high life pool too, as well as Armour Rating and Life Leech to give you an overall smooth experience. This Path of Exile build offers you hefty Fire damage, and once you have Devouring Diadem and Bow, you will be able to scorch all that stands before you.

Essence Drain Trickster

The Essence Drain spell is without a doubt one of the best starting spells you can get. If you are looking for efficient clear speeds, then you will certainly find it here. It boasts one of the fastest spells you can use for leveling, making the most of skill gems and passives to see you through. Thanks to the use of Contagion, you can use Essence Drain to apply a debuff to mobs, and you can hand out additional damage against bosses courtesy of Bane and Curse. One of the most attractive features of this Path of Exile build is using Energy Shield instead of having to take up Mana, thanks to the use of Eldritch Battery.

Ball Lightning Archmage Hierophant

Craving a more shocking way of dealing with enemies? Then this POE build will see you combining Archmage Support and Ball Lightning to offer one of the most effective self-casting spells in the game. Like other PoE builds on this list, you can expect effective clear speeds here and a projectile ability that can affect enemies more than once. If you are willing to invest in decent gear too, you will have bosses at your mercy as well. One of the highlights is also the use of Ivory Tower, which sees Chaos Damage coming off your Mana as opposed to your life. Pair this up with Reserve Life and you will have a great defensive setup in place.

These PoE builds are great starters to use in Path of Exile. Parts of them may see you forking out some PoE currency here and there, and you might have to do some research gear-wise to get the most out of them. Whichever you choose, you will be a dominant force progressing through the new league.
